The story follows Meg, whose father, a brilliant scientist, has disappeared seemingly into thin air. After the loss of her father, Meg struggles in school and daily life, feeling like an outsider with no chance of closure to heal her heartbreak and grief.
As she holds on to a small slither of hope that her father is still out there, Meg befriends schoolmate Calvin, who she talks to her about dad’s theories of cross-dimensional and universal travel, which explains how people can travel through space using wrinkles in time.
